What it takes to become a member of Clan Lagitus...
1. Be Lagged. Specifically, we don't want any T1, ISDN, or cable modem players here. This clan is for those with dial-up PPP modem accounts with modems only. (no cable modems, just standard 14.4, 28.8 or 33.6 modems) While people who upgrade to LPB status will get to stay in the clan, we don't want any new non-modem members. Do not attempt to join if you know that you will be a LPB soon.
2. Be Good. (this is optional) Even though most of us have dial-up accounts here, you should be good enough to kick some T1 ass once in a while. Let's embarrass those low ping players and show them just how bad they are. Even if you're not that good, it doesn't mean you can't join. Our members are expected to exchange strategies for the benefit of our other lagged clan members.
3. Be Nice. We don't want our members entering servers and saying "You lamers suck fucking shit" (or anything like that) When we lose a match, we take it like a man and compliment our superiors. Of course, if we lose to T1 players, we just get the hell out of there and head to a different server with players that have similar ping times. Overall, Good Sportsmanship is the primary clan policy.
4. Be Active. Lagitus does not enforce any standards for activity, (although
divisions may) but we'd at least like you to show up on servers or IRC
whenever you can, Real Life
5. You need to agree to obey the many operating policies that this clan has. There are many, but the primary ones are: Display good sportsmanship and always wear the clan colors and skin. New members can read the full clan policy document after join and leave the clan immediately if they disagree with anything.
6. A full understanding of what this clan is really about. You probably understand, but if you don't, it will be painfully obvious by your application.
Membership is currently open.
While it is open, keep in mind that it is by invitation only. That doesn't mean you can't get to know us in hopes that you get invited. The best way to get to know us is to stop by our IRC channel #Lagitus on GamesNET and then join us in some games.Don't expect it to be easy to get in. We have a voting policy where all of our members have a chance to say yes or no. You'll need an 80% approval rate and at least 10 member votes. While an invitation is required, also note that being invited by another member or knowing someone in the clan does not mean you'll get in. All invitations will be investigated. Running into one of our members on a server does not constitute an invitation.
If you don't get in, we may not tell you why. If this bothers you, then don't apply. Basically, if you just don't fit in for one reason or another, we're too polite and sensitive to tell you straight out. Don't put us in that position... take the hint and be on your way.
We don't accept email addresses from any email addresses that you don't own. There are over 300 freebie email domains. That means: Have your OWN email address and send the message from it. All addresses are verified. (Sorry, some people just keep trying with fake addresses) If the message gets bounced back to with a "host unknown" or a "user unknown" you will not be able to become a member and your application will get rejected. Be sure to use the correct email address and have a little patience.
A list is kept of all the previous denied applications. If you have previously applied and been denied membership, you may not re-apply. You only get one chance, so make sure you will be available in the couple weeks after you send an app in.
After your application has been received by the clan member that is inviting you, it will be reviewed and placed in our waiting list where it will sit until we find time to review it further and get back to you. You'll either be denied membership or become a "potential recruit" and further instructions will be sent. Tryout meetings happen about once every 2 weeks, usually on a the weekend.
You must completely answer all of the questions in the application. Leave one answer blank or even slightly incomplete and you're out of the running. Be warned that this application is large and may take up to an hour to complete. Your application may be viewed by other clan members.
