Gang Green News - August 97
Rage against the Green
Machine - by KodaK
It
was a 2 on 2 Genocide match due to connection problems, and Rage controlled
the RL area for most of the game. Thanks to Lockness for helping out.
Gang Toppled by Doppleganger
- by KodaK
It
was ugly! Doppleganger managed a sound thrashing in this match. Settings
were teamplay 2, deathmatch 1, on DM3. Thanks to Dakkon for helping out.
I am getting net_sendpacket error 10049 messages which freeze my system,
someone has to find a cure for Trion and I
who both get this error on a regular basis.
Game
2 used deathmatch 3, which was of course more fun, but yielded a similar
result. Time to start practicing! Sometimes its better to spectate :)
Lagitus Server! - by
KodaK
Yes we now have a server for matches and practices.
Its available 6pm to 6am.
Are we not Men? - by
KodaK
DM3
teamplay 2 and deathmatch 3 were the settings for our Genocide match with
D E V O. Trion and Brutalizer were disconnected,
and lost their frags. It was fun to be playing again after my Laptop had
to go into the shop. DEVO were great sportsmen.
Warmup with the Pack
- by KodaK
For
our warmup, the Wolfpack gave us a game on DM3 with the same settings as
our match. Now it seems that lots of clans really hate the deathmatch
3 setting, but in my opinion Deathmatch 1 becomes a dreary, boring
weapon hoarding game suitable for the elderly and infirm. Deathmatch
3 results in lots of action and equalizes the level a bit, so at least
the matchups are more even. The better team still wins, but the losing
team has more fun. And Fun is what this is
about.
Nintendo unplugged -
by KodaK
After
our match we had a couple of scrimmages with Nintendo 64 on their server.
Game 1 was DM3 deathmatch 1. They are a new clan, and did very well for
once of their first games.
In
Game 2 we switched to deathmatch 3, which provided a much more exciting
game! Leo and Bones
go on a tear.
Recent match - by Zaphoid
We played a 2 level
match with Force Recon. The final combined score was Gang Green 404, Recon
25. Recon had some ping problems, but they played on anyway like good sportsmen.
The match was alot of fun. Settings were teamplay 2, deathmatch 3, and
levels were DM3 and DM6.
In the match
setup email, they agreed to a Genocide match although when we met the guys
for this match they didn't know anything about Genocide. We'll submit the
score assuming their leader registered them.
Recent scrims - by Zaphoid
We played a quick
scrim with Clan Flag! and they were pretty cool even though regular deathmatch
is not their specialty. Most of us played with 400 pings, and Flag! lost
one of their players midway through.
One word describes
our scrim with On A Stick. Fwap! GG actuall lead the game early but something
happened and we lost control of DM3. This was a teamplay 2 deathmatch 1
game, thus the "controlability" of the map.
Back to Killing School -
by KodaK
Its been back to school for me with this new laptop,
as I have been practicing using the tiny keyboard and screen. My system
still crashes after 5-10 min of playing, so its been a bit frustrating.
At least now I can update the web page. I have been using the handle o2
when in practice mode on unfriendly servers.
Zaph made us up a new GG graphic which is now at
the top of the page!
Ammo Genocide match - by
Zaphoid
Our first Genocide
match of the new season. This game was a 4 on 4 HPB match. GG squeaked
out a win on the first game, which happened on DM6.
The second
game was held on E4M3, and while we knew about the level ahead of time
it still kinda took us by surprise. Ammo showed some true mastery of this
level, taking control on the many quads on the level. Overall score: GG
186, Ammo 273. GG looks forward to another Genocide match with Ammo.
