Gang hit by Tsunami - by KodaK

ScreenshotOur first game after the merge did not go well. The Silver Surfers blasted us 130-35 on DM2 and DM3. Jester's new [LagGG] names look good, now we have to work on moving them up the score list. You know your having a bad game when .... you score is lower than one of the observers ;)

Rocket Lags and Gang Green Merge - by KodaK

With RealLife (TM) keeping Leo and Trollop busy, we have had trouble fielding a team for battles lately, so I asked the RL folks if thay wanted to merge. After 15 minutes of careful planning an agreement was reached!. This adds the fine talents of Crass, RobDog, Strato, and Trion to the lineup. Strato will become official Webmaster and is working on our new site. I will maintian this one until Strat is ready. Leo and Trollop are now on the GG alternate list with Dante and Conan, and can re-join the Gang once they can get more playing time. (Note: anyone on the alternate list can join the gang if they want) I thank them both for their contibutions to the team. Jest and I will continue in our high-paying jobs in Gang Management.

We can now focus on building our team skills, and I look forward to many good games! Welcome folks!

Jester on a Rampage - by KodaK

ScreenshotSomeone must have pissed off Jester big-time as he goes on a tear on DM4. I suspect the other players would be surprised to find that there is red armor, 100H, and 2 rocket launchers on this level, since Jest prolly never let them find any! Good shooting!

Honourable Discharge for Major - by KodaK

Major, who will soon be a LPB, has left the gang to join the Canucks! We wish him well, and thank him for giving me a great deal of notice to restaff the Gang (Leo and Meth). Major agreed to stay to the end of our run in the KOC tourney. Major was one of the origional members of the Gang, back when we were called the High Ping Bastards.

Anarchy in the KoC - by KodaK

We finally decided to end the pain of the poorly organized tourney and forfeited our game today with Gothic Pain. I am no longer interested in reguar quake tourneys since the games are too laggy. QW spoils U.

GG Aids Agenda X-Tinction - by KodaK

ScreenshotThis was the final game of the X-Tinction Agenda, and to their credit, they still showed up! We had trouble getting a server, so we played 20 min on DM6. Robdog timed out near the end of the game. This was our Week 3 IQL game, and will be registered on Genocide as well. We wish all exiting X members good luck in their search for new homes.

Gibster's Bad Place - by KodaK

ScreenshotThis was the craziest game of the night, as I was fragged 4 times b4 I could get my rate and pushlatency set up! It was so crowded, that we abandoned any hopes of teamwork and opted for a FFA. Time to get the next BFFFA organized. I am also recriting some lags to run a few skill improvement clinics for us. Zaph has agreed to run a player prediction seminar on DM3, and I will put the details on the members events page.

A Wicked Demise - by KodaK

ScreenshotOur match with Wicked Demise was on DM3, on our "home" server (look at the wonderful pings Jest and I got). Zaphoid led the scoring for the first half, then Dante took over as Zaph watched his own PJ for much of the remainder. Meth was also a tough customer. Wicked Demise were good sports and played well. Final score 46-11.

Spring Thaw - by KodaK

ScreenshotWe had a fun scrimmage the PermaFrost divison today and played a few DM rounds (DM4-6) on a North American server. We had the ping advantage, but heard no complaints from the Lags across the water. It was a public server, and we had one stunned mullet, who wouldn't leave until we covered all the spawn points on dm4.

GG Closes the Kennel - by KodaK

ScreenshotWeek 2 of the IQL took us to the Dogpound for 2 fun games with Clan Doggus. Game one was on DM3 and for once we did ok in a 3 on 3 situation. Meth took over Jest's low traffic zone for the game. We decided to accept the ping disadvantage and play both games on the Doggus server due to sever lag on our home server.
ScreenshotGame 2 was on DM6 (Doggus choice) and the pack jumped into a quick lead and had us running around like stunned mullets - bare naked with sticks! Things were looking grim until Zaphoid caught fire and started freeing up the red armor and RL allowing me to don some kevlar on and get back in the game. Final score114-54 for GG. Thanks go to McGruff for his part in organizing the tournament.

The Invitational QuakeWorld League (IQL) Begins - by KodaK

ScreenshotWe faced the PJ division of Lagitus in the first week of the league. It was a close battle on DM3 with Dante topping the board, however the Gang prevails with a 39-38 victory. Zaphoid scored a frag at the end to eek ahead of PJ. Jester did better than his score indicates and was not fragged much as he had an important role in the strategy. Meth held up well in his first DM3 match. I can see that our weekly PJ scrimmages are going to be fun.

Lagitus finds Towel - by KodaK

Lagitus just completed a BPR phase and has a new organizational structure. Jester is now in charge of the recruituing team for the clan, and I am helping with the events and competitions portfolio. Zaph continues as WebMaster (I wonder when some company will offer him a job as such) and clan leader.

ScreenshotJester is also co-leader of the Gang and has decided to celebrate by setting +mlook on full time. Here after 14 min on DM4 you can see the result! Note the interesting frag limit of 42 - Do you know where your towel is ?

Gang enters QW Invitational League - by KodaK

We will be playing in a 6 team QW mini-league over the next 6 weeks, so I will be reducing the number of scrimmages we are in to allow for the weekly games. If this goes well we may enter the Clan Ring QW league or tourney if it gets off the ground. It seems that there are enough QW only clans out there to make a league interesting.

Public Scrimmage with the Crimson Eagles - by KodaK

ScreenshotWithout a server for our game we decided to play a few levels on a public server with the low pinging Crimson Eagles. Sure enough we got some company, but instead of the typical stunned mullets, the Silver Surfers dropped in to create an exciting three way battle. Each of the teams had members at the top of the leader board, with Bleeder of the Eagles winning DM4 in the pic.

ScreenshotZaphoid and Natenfaust (Eagle) were with us earlier as we battled on DM2. Based on scores and keeping time and players equal: SS won DM5, GG won DM2 and DM4 , and I don't have a screen shot of DM3.

Quad + SNG = Trouble - by KodaK

In E1M6 (Door to Chevron :) the Quad is sometimes left unused, and with everyone killing themselves to get a RL it pays to Quad up a lesser weapon. In the 4 minutes of this game I never had the RL, opting for the SNG instead and only missed 1 quad. I was getting severe phone jacks, and was playing undercover to avoid embarrasment to the clan. E-Man (certified Rank Weasel TM) bleated camper each time I killed him and eventually kicked me off the server!
