It
was a close battle on E1M6, but we managed to edge ahead of Zealot Wroth
with a late game rampage by Conan. As normal
Lagitus was at a ping disadvantage, with only myself having a ping comparable
to the opponent, which helped me in the first half of the game. Regular
quake still sucks, and even messagemode 2 did not work!
In
the second half I started freezing up and getting 2-10 second lapses,
where I would end up dead and was effecively removed from the match.
Check out this ping! Note that Zaph had to
record a demo which lagged him even furthur.
Congtratulations to Meth and Zaphoid for making the primary list for our ClanRing League team. Lagitus was voted into the DM POTS Elite League, and I see some tough customers in our Division. I am one of the alternate players, and I hope that the clan has an internal division competition to set the Clan team.
Those
hard playing Frogz won another scrimmage tonight. Game 1 was DM4 and there
were some connection problems, so the total score for Zaph
and Dante is unknown. These folks are
good on DM4.
Game
2 was DM3 and we can see that PJ's practice on this level is working. The
Frogz still prevailed, and I can see we need to start practicing DM3 more.
Lets have some more scrimmages with these folks, as they can show us some
good 3 on 3 tactics.
We
lost our Clan Wars match with Clan Mordor 70-125 tonight. Our scheduled
server was down, so we hasily arranged a server with fff, but in the process
lost a few players from both teams due to IRC problems. We ended up
3 on 3, and game one, E1M3 was close 43-54.
In
game 2 DM4, we discovered that using a 4 person strategy with 3 ppl does
not work! Jest was effectively taken out of
the game. A big thanks to DeviLord for waiting for us. We plan to have
more battles with Mordor in the future, as both teams agree that games
are more fun with evenly matched teams.
Clan
Erinyes was a good host and set up a NUG server for our use tonight. Game
1 was on DM4 teamplay 2, and Jest and I had
major lag problems but managed to get through the game. Zaphoid
went on a tear as our rover and got a few with the Quad. Meth
did well in his first 5 on 5 GG scrimmage.
Game
2 was their choice with DM3 teamplay 1 - Check out Jester's
score with his ping! Leonardo won the level
with Erinyes controlling the RL much better in this game. I spent
much of the game in the air and felt like a stunned
mullet. It was a fun night, and we will schedule a match with these
folks soon. Total score was 258-130 Lagitus.
Meth
has a strange way of warming up before as our candid camera catches
him mooning the other team. This practice is now part of our SOP and will
begin each game to help confuse the opposition.
We
had a couple of scrimmages with FFF from Quebec on their server and were
beat up pretty bad. Thanks to Lock for helping
out and salvaging a little respect for the clan. These folks were nice
enough to let us use their server for our Game with Mordor. Final score
was 65-172.
40
min on DM2 with teamplay 1 is a blast. This game with Clan Mordor was very
close, and it was only near the end that Zaph went
on a killing spree to ensure the victory. Leonardo
did very well with the worst ping. Our next game with these folks
is for Clan Wars. Final score 216-168.
This
is the best ping I have had as a modem player. This server is in Toronto
and uses my ISP. Now this would make a nice home server! This server is
owned by the Knights of Ni.
Lael of the Scatter Brains joined in for a battle, and it was nice to be
the LPB for a change.
I am
going to get an 5 min hour glass so I can see eat more of these tasty
snacks. Now sometimes in a game you can feel pretty good about your chances
at getting a frag. I like starting this way! Here LPB .. LPB .. LPB..!
UA
dropped into IRC to ask for a scrimmage, and we of course said yes.
Game 1 was E2M2 on teamplay 1 with the best Lag ping 100ms below the worst
UA, so you can guess the results. It tooks us quite a while to adjust to
regular quake, but still had an enjoyable scrimmage.
Game
2 was played on DM4, and we had requested teamplay 2, which was never set!
So here we are being careful against a team who is firing at will! Rezurecta
joined the game after another UA had to leave. Boy do we need a home server!
Thanks to RobDog for helping out in the mugging.
We are happy to welcome Meth to the gang. Meth brings good 1 on 1 skills to the team and is a very clever player as well.
Leonardo
just switched ISP's and has noticed an improvement in his game.
All Gang members should be trying to get a
fast provider with a T1 or 3 link onto MCI. Then all we have to do is get
a server on MCI and we will be set for our home games.
In
round 1 of the KoC CTF tournament Major and
myself were victorious over the Doughboys (and girls) 81-35
on CTF4. Ex-GG Everclear was the observer
on this very sluggish server. The game was very quiet for me since my sound
card failed before the match! The Doughboys were very professional, and
we thank them for a tough game. I will set up a scrimmage with them
soon.
It
was not a good night for match play. Our KoC tourney opponents did not
show, and our Wed scrimmage opponents had to put together a team at the
last min, then we could not get in a game before the Server crashed! So
TRION, Lurker, Major, Strato, and I played
a little Diablo!. Major looks good in shorts!
I expect to see everyone at the BFFFA on Saturday night! Bring
out the beer!
We
welcome Leonardo to the Gang! he brings good
quake skills and as you can see in this scrimmage, does well with teamplay
2 to boot. This scrimmage was supposed to be against the RL division, but
only RobDog could get on the server. GG won 99-18.
