With the number of matches increasing, the search has begun for 2 more grizzled players to join the Gang Green ranks. Please read the GG FAQ before contacting me about admission. Tryouts will be on level DM4 over the next few weeks.

We
had a close scrimmage with the Scatter Brains tonight on their regular
Quake server. In game 1 E2M1 the SB's won 49-74.
Major had 5 frags and was disconnected twice
:( Crass and Strato helped out big time! In Game 2 E2M2 with RobDog and
Lurker helping we managed a 94-66 win for
an overall win 143-140. The SB's were well
organized and a great clan to play!
It
took over 2 hours to get in this 13 min scrimmage on DM3. The gang managed
a 19-15 victory on OD's server. Major
and I played Diablo afterwards to settle down.
-3
to 113 what more can I say ? DOA displayed excellent level management
skills as well as good 1 on 1 ability on this teamplay 2 DM3 level. Poor
Naked and Java who
filled in for our regulars - thanks guys - it doesn't get much worse than
this. I expect DOA to do very well in future ClanRing tournaments,
and to their credit displayed good sportmanship.
We
fared a bit better on DM4 8 - 41 The server
crashed on this level, and we decided to call it a night. Funeral services
for our pride will be held on Monday.
Jester's
practice is paying off - too bad he goes to a new job next week and will
get less playing time. I am in the final interview stages of a new job
(they have ISDN and I think fractal T1 and I can try to set up
a server) so will have less late night playing time as well. When Major
moves closer to the inhabited world (and MCI backbone) we will be
much tougher gang.
This
is why we like QW - even with poor pings the game was still fun! Now unforunately
these hosers beat us by a narrow margin 132-42
. It was Hockey Night in Canada
with those uniformed Canucks. Don Cherry would
be proud. Thanks to Offender for arranging the game server. Next time we
will hide their Coleman stoves 'eh - they will be so upset we will beat
them easily! The level was DM4 - teamplay 2. The Canucks are a good clan
to play!
I think
our regular Quake days are over. RobDog helps
salvage some pride from this DM5 scrimmage spanking. Jester and Trollop
left this slow laggy game. Pings were equal for all teams, but the server
must have been busy. We have a match next weekend with DOA, so we better
practice to avoid a repeat. Note that we post all
screenshots good and bad - its only a game :)
Why
the manditory LPB of course! Its seems lately that LPB's look for a server
filled with modem players and drop in for a quick rank boost. What a coincidence
that this shot was chosen (this is the only level that DuKeGod lost :)
I have added the quake clan
news site to our links page. Note that Lagitus is listed a one of the
sources.
Sometimes
a poor unfortunate LPB uses a slower connection (in this case 178 still
good by our standards) so remember to show some understanding ..... and
kill them quickly and often screaming REVENGE! (remember to hide when they
get their T1 back:) If you are looking for some tough players try BastardWorld
155.102.167.14 on the Disruptor master and you will usually be accomodated
(and spanked).
It
seems that we are becoming a quakeworld only clan, as our regular quake
playing time has dropped to nearly zero. I have added a link to our
members only files page so you can download
neat levels like kndycity faster than through QW. We are also meeting a
few cool clans such as the Canucks who run the Scooby Snacks server. I
have also put my config for QW on the files page.
We
had planned a CTF scrimmage with Ammo, but without a private server
it proved impossible to coordinate so we practiced some teamplay instead.
Here we played on DM2 for almost an hour with the red team prevailing.
This server had QW stats turned off, an option that can be set by
the server operator, so nobody had their efficiency or skill impacted.
Here
is one of the rare instances where we are all out of the lava on DM4, so
we decided to take a photo to prove it could be done!
Who
says we don't like challenges ? We had our first match today with the new
lineup and of course picked the Rangers for the battle. The first game
was played on DM6 with deathmatch 2 and teamplay 1 settings, and the Rangers
showed us how to play this level. Thanks to the Rangers for showing good
sportmanship and hospitality. Both games were played on the Rangers's server.
This was good initiation for Trollop, who
did well in his first match.
In
game 2 (our "home" game) we picked DM4 with deathmatch 1 and
teamplay 2 settings. We had practiced today for this level, which helped
us win the game. Zaphoid
played "rover" for us and finished in first place! Myself
and Trollop had the red armor upper area,
Maj and Jester took
the 100H RL area. Rangers won the overall match 578 to 453 (total of both
games) and we congratulate them. The gang displayed good manners, and I congratulate
you all on a good effort.
Now
practice does help! Here is our earlier DM4 scrimmage that gave us the
edge in the match with the Rangers. Thanks to Stave, Leonardo, Crass, and
the others who dropped in to help.
We welcome Trollop, a seasoned veteran with thousands of hours of on-line gaming experience under his belt, to the Gang. Everclear is no longer in the Gang and we wish him luck in his future endeavors.
We
have a match this weekend with the Rangers, so get as much DM4 (shown here
in the screenshot) and DM6 practice as you can.
And in QW CTF - THE GRAPPLE IS BACK!
